An Orthodox Sephardic Synagogue
Tiferet Israel Congregation, an Orthodox Sephardic synagogue, is a dynamic congregation of Spanish and French speaking Moroccan Jews, established in 1965 in the Bathurst and Wilson area by recent newcomers to Toronto from Morocco. Our Tefillah and ceremonies follow the ancient tradition of our ancestors.
We are now located on the north side of Sheppard Avenue West, between Bathurst Street and Faywood Boulevard. Tiferet Israel is a small, warm, and welcoming synagogue of about eighty families. Tiferet Israel Congregation offers its members a “big family” atmosphere in a small community environment.
TIFERET ISRAEL CONGREGATION – OUR HISTORY
The lot at 756 Sheppard Avenue West was purchased November 24, 1978.
The Groundbreaking Ceremony took place in May 1988.
The Inauguration Ceremony was on September 5, 1988.
